And on that leap of junk science faith, doctors began prescribing statin drugs to elderly people by the millions.
But guess what? Once some real science was conducted, it turns out that statin drugs actually increase the risk of pneumonia by as much as 61 percent! In other words, these drugs promote the very infections they claim to prevent. (What else is new?)
