Natural soap berry laundry detergent co-op opportunity for NewsTarget readers

NewsTarget Insider Alert (www.NewsTarget.com)

Dear readers,

This is a rare opportunity to take part in a cooperative product acquisition effort organized by NewsTarget.com and designed to help consumers eliminate the toxic chemicals found in manufactured laundry detergent products. A few months ago, we announced a product called Maggie's Soap Nuts -- a natural soap and laundry detergent made from the dried shells of berries that grow on the soap berry tree. The reader response was tremendous, and over a thousand people have tried the product and liked it!

We received a lot of feedback about the soap berries. Readers were thrilled to find a natural soap product that worked so well and yet contained no synthetic chemicals or toxic fragrance additives. But we also received complaints about the price of the product. It was just too expensive, people told us, and they wanted something that was more competitive with the popular laundry detergents sold in stores. They were also concerned about the large amount of packaging used with the soap nuts, and they wanted something more eco-friendly that doesn't use such expensive packaging with color printing.

Our cooperative acquisition of soap berries

Here at NewsTarget, our primary mission is to serve the interests of you, our readers. In response to all the email and phone calls about these soap berries, we've decided to consider putting together a co-op soap berry buying arrangement where we pool the product demand of our readers and approach the various soap berry producers around the world to find the best price (and quality) for a bulk purchase. By doing this, we'll be able to acquire soap berries at a significantly reduced price while using more eco-friendly packaging.

Health: Natural soap berry laundry detergent co-op buying opportunity announced at NewsTarget.com
This is a rare opportunity to take part in a cooperative product acquisition effort organized by NewsTarget.com and designed to help consumers eliminate the toxic chemicals found in manufactured laundry detergent products. A few months ago, we announced...

To participate in this NewsTarget reader co-op arrangement, simply click here to send us an email and tell us the following information:

1) How many KILOs of soap berries would you be interested in purchasing? (Can be approximate. One kilo equals 2.2 pounds and can clean from 100 - 150 loads of laundry.) This is not actually a reservation; it's just an email survey of how many kilos of soap berries our readers might want.

2) Your first and last name.

3) The city, state and country in which you live.

The estimated price to you (see below) will be around $30 per kilo, which is less than half the current retail price of similar products. The final price may actually be lower, but we won't know until we approach the producers and calculate the total costs.

You do not have to actually commit to buying what you want to reserve, nor do you have to place an order right now. We're just trying to gauge the approximate demand for bulk-packaged soap berries. Remember, too, that soap berries can be used to clean laundry, hair, skin, countertops, children's play areas and much more. I'm going to be using this to make pet shampoo, body wash, garage cleaner and a natural veggie wash. The saponins are extremely versatile. Anywhere that you need soap, you can use soap berries (even on carpet!).

We will then take this aggregate product demand and approach Maggie's Soap Nuts and other companies to get the best price possible on the total demand (which might be 2,000 kilos of soap berries, for example). Once we acquire the best price, we will front the money to buy this shipment of soap berries and have it brought to our fulfillment center near Phoenix, Arizona (or, shipped to other continents depending on demand, see below...). From there, we will offer the product through www.BetterLifeGoods.com at the best price we can manage. (We will need to have some markup in order to cover the up-front cash requirements, shipping, customs clearance, fulfillment costs, storage costs and other logistics overhead, but the bottom line savings to everyone will be tremendous.)

The bottom line? Together, we can acquire large quantities of soap berries at an unprecedented price by pooling our demand and using this to negotiate the best deal possible with soap berry providers.

How to get in on this co-op purchase

Click here to email us now ( soap@newstarget.com) and tell us how many kilos of soap berries you want to reserve. We estimate the final price might be around $30 per kilo (plus shipping), but do not hold us to that because we don't know the final cost until we approach the soap berry companies with our aggregate demand numbers. There may also be seasonal issues (soap berries are only harvested during certain times of the year) that affect the final price and availability.

Please note that $30 per kilo is less than half the price of the soap berry product we are currently offering (which is priced at $19 for 10 ounces, and that comes out to over $65 per kilo).

One kilogram of soap berries can clean from 100 - 150 loads of laundry. If we take the middle ground on this and assume it can clean 125 loads of laundry, the cost comes to 24 cents per load of laundry. That's actually LESS than many of the name-brand chemical laundry detergents. So this is a price point that should make sense to everyone: Not only do you pay no more for this natural detergent, but you also save the environment from toxic chemicals, reduce the poisoning of your own family from laundry chemicals and reduce the use of wasteful packaging.

Each kilo of soap berries will be packaged in a separate cloth bag which may or may not be wrapped in a plastic bag (we haven't decided yet whether humidity control is necessary for these soap berries). Each kilo will also include a small cloth bag to use as a holding container for the soap nuts (you toss the small bag into the laundry).

Personally, I'm reserving a couple hundred pounds myself, because I've been washing laundry with these soap berries for months now, and I'm never switching back to chemical laundry detergent! I'm also buying extra to give away as Christmas gifts this year. Everybody gets soap berries! (My Christmas shopping will be completely done when this shipment arrives!)

Why the Bodhi tree matters

Buying and using soap berries isn't merely about cleaning your own laundry; it's about cleansing the whole world. Soap berries come from a species closely related to the Bodhi Tree, which many of you may recall as being the tree under which Buddha sat while meditating for peace. The Bodhi Tree is a "sacred fig" and has a fascinating history you can read at Wikipedia.

When you purchase and use soap berries, you encourage the growing of these sacred trees while also providing honest, close-to-the-earth work for farmers and families in the countries where these soap berries are produced: India, Indonesia, Taiwan and other SE Asian nations.

Soap berries are grown without pesticides. All soap berries are naturally organic. (Because bugs don't like to eat soap.) Their cultivation is earth-friendly and sustainable, which is in great contrast to the chemical production of laundry detergent which pollutes our waters, soils and bodies. Soap berry saponins can even be used to cleanse the soil and help rid it of toxic substances.

You can even make a natural garden pesticide out of soap berries, and use it to protect your plants from pests without poisoning your food or soil. It's truly an astounding solution for earth-friendly cleanliness, and it's provided by Mother Nature. Using soap berries in your laundry, kitchen, shower and home helps support this industry that, until recently, had virtually disappeared thanks to the popularity of chemical-based cleaning products that now dominate Western society (which is increasingly poisoned and dying from cancer and Alzheimer's disease -- no coincidence). But now, the soap berry industry is surging back, and you can be part of this rebirth of an industry that the planet desperately needs if we are to survive as a civilization.

As I said, it's about much more than cleaning your laundry. It's about survival. We either stop poisoning our homes and environment, or we will perish. And while soap berries alone can't save the planet, they are absolutely part of the solution.

This arrangement only happens once a year

If you're interested in participating in this special NewsTarget co-op purchase of soap berries, reserve enough soap berries for a one-year supply because we will probably only do this kind of co-op aggregate purchasing deal once a year. If you want to reserve a very large quantity such as 100 or 200 kilos, please let us know so that we can make sure you are at the top of the fulfillment list when the product arrives. Some institutional customers (such as hotels or B&Bs) could "go green" by switching to this natural laundry detergent and eliminating their reliance on chemical products.

And by the way, if you want to buy these from us at the co-op prices and then resell them at retail price to local businesses or customers, that's fine with us. The more people use soap berries, the better it is for the planet. My main goal here is spreading knowledge about this product and getting more consumers switched over so they stop using toxic laundry detergent products filled with synthetic chemicals and fragrance.

Soap berry co-op summary

Email us at soap@newstarget.com to tell us how many kilos of soap berries you want to reserve. (No obligation. It's just an estimate.) Please include:

1) How many KILOs of soap berries would you be interested in purchasing.

2) Your first and last name.

3) The city, state and country in which you live.

The reason we want to know your country is that if there's enough demand in Australia, for example, we may arrange for a separate shipment to Australia that can be distributed locally at very low cost. Also, if you are interested in being a local distributor for this product outside North America, please indicate that in your email. (If we arrange for a shipment directly to Australia, for example, we will need someone there to handle storage and fulfillment.)

After we receive email responses to this, we will:

• Determine whether there's enough combined interested to justify a bulk purchase.

• We will combine the demand estimates and seek out the best price on bulk soap berries.

• We'll buy the soap berries up front and import them, then make them available for fulfillment from the U.S. (or other countries, too, depending on demand).

• We'll pass the cost savings through to NewsTarget readers, and we'll all get the best pricing possible on this environmentally-friendly natural cleaning product. (We estimate the final cost to consumers will be $30 per kilo, which is less than half the current retail pricing on such products.) The actual final cost may vary from this, however. We won't know until we do the deal.

• It may take us approximately 4 - 8 weeks to acquire the product and be ready to fulfill orders. (That's mostly for international shipping time.) It may be faster if we can find a source in North America, however.

• This is something we will only offer to readers once a year, so if you're interested in participating, be sure to reserve enough supply for one year.

• If you want to reserve very large quantities such as 200 kilos, this is your chance to acquire it very affordably. Please contact us to make arrangements to join this co-op arrangement. We'll be sure your 200 kilos make it on the boat! (A deposit will be required to reserve very large quantities to make sure you're serious about it.)

Together, we have significant purchasing power, and it's time we used that to get the best deal possible on an important, eco-friendly product for green living. Join us in this cooperative acquisition of soap berries and we'll all share the benefits!

NOTE: Your email to us is not a legally-binding reservation of soap berries. If you actually want to reserve a large amount up front and guarantee availability, you'll need to call us and arrange for a down payment. (Call 520-232-9300.) What we're trying to do here is get an estimate of the total reader demand for this product so we can order enough to go around. But because this is all just an estimate, we could end up with too much or too little product. We'll keep you posted on the outcome of this co-op purchasing action and let you know what steps we're taking to acquire the product.

To your health,

- Mike Adams

How to enjoy the health benefits of raw foods using simple, practical and delicious recipes now revealed in the new book, "The Raw Gourmet" by Nomi Shannon

Review by Mike Adams

By now, we're all familiar with the health benefits of eating raw foods as part of our diet. But getting started with those raw foods recipes is challenging for many, including myself, because we don't know where to find the best raw foods recipes.

Even when we find some recipes, far too many of them seem to be written for professional chefs, or for people with unlimited time on their hands. I don't know about you, but for me to pay attention to a raw foods recipe book, it needs to present recipes that are quick, simple, healthy and visually appealing at the same time!

That's no small order, but we've found the book that does it: The Raw Gourmet by Nomi Shannon.

This book, available now at Truth Publishing, is a masterful collection of raw foods recipes. In it, you'll discover 223 mouthwatering recipes -- accompanied by gorgeous full-color photography -- that show you how to make:

  • Puddings
  • Juices
  • Salads
  • Soups
  • Gravies
  • Dressings
  • Sauces
  • Dips
  • Burgers
  • Food wraps
  • Pies
  • Ice cream
  • Candies

... and a whole lot more, too. It also includes an entire section on sprouting, food combining reference charts and a grocery guide that reveals the best strategies for shopping in a way that maximizes your health benefits while minimizing your grocery bill.

Click here to order The Raw Gourmet today.

Not just for raw foods people
What's really impressive about The Raw Gourmet is that it's not just a raw foods book for people who already eat raw... it's a raw foods how-to book for everyone who wants to spice up their food and enhance their health, even if they're not vegetarians or vegans!

Whether you make raw foods 20 percent, 60 percent or 100 percent of your diet, this book gives you the mouth-watering recipes that make it all quite practical and fun!

And when I say mouth-watering, I mean it! Listen to the names of some of the recipes you'll find in The Raw Gourmet:

Banana-Papaya Pudding (page 11)... Sprouted Wheat and Raisin Cereal (page 12)... Pineapple-Grape Ambrosia (page 24)... Sweet Almond Milk (page 28)... Frozen Vanilla Bliss (page 31)... Curried Lentil Salad (page 39)... Red Cabbage-Caraway Slaw (page 43)... Yellow Squash Finocchio (page 62)... Slivered Veggie Chop Suey (page 68)... Zucchini Mexicali (page 89)... Avocado-Dill Soup (page 95)... Premier French Dressing (page 103)... Zippy Red Pepper-Ginger Dressing (page 109)... Almond-Curry Dip (page 123)... and dozens more.

And then you'll get to the main courses like Sun Garden Burgers (page 132)... Asian Paté (page 139)... Vegetable Supreme Loaf (page 142)... Chili Rellenos (page 146)... Yam and Apple-Stuffed Mushroom (page 150)... Herbed Pizza-Kinda Crust (page 154)...

Plus delightful desserts like Frozen Mango Pie (page 168)... Banana-Coconut Creme Pie (page 173)... Banana Ice Cream (page 175)... Apple Sorbet (page 176)... Mango-Lime Parfait (page 179)... Orange-Date Dessert Bars (page 186)... Very Carrot Cake (page 188)... and many more.

And we've only touched on a few highlights here. The Raw Gourmet contains a seemingly endless variety of easy, practical and enlivening recipes that can show anyone how to make raw foods a regular part of their diet. Click here to check it out yourself!

The perfect gift for friends or family
Naturally, The Raw Gourmet makes a perfect gift idea due to its spectacular full-color photography. You've never seen raw foods presented like this. The photography by Edmond Fong is superb, and it makes this book something of a work of art just to look at. The size of the book is substantial, too -- a full 8 1/2" by 11".

Give it to a friend who you'd like to see get healthier, and by them sampling just two or three recipes from this book, they can enhance their health with the unique, natural nutrition found only in raw foods.

Did you know that cooking foods destroys much of their nutritional content? Cooking destroys about half the protein of raw foods, as well as many of the phytonutrients. Microwaving broccoli, for example, destroys as much as 98 percent of the anti-cancer compounds that are found naturally in the plant. While steaming some plants helps unlock certain nutrients (such as lycopene in tomatoes), foods deliver far more nutrition overall when they're consumed in raw form.

It doesn't mean we all have to follow a 100 percent raw foods diet (I certainly don't), but it is beneficial to include some raw food component with each meal. For most people, that's the green salad, but in reality, a salad is only the tip of the iceberg lettuce when it comes to raw foods, and until you've seen and tried the recipes in The Raw Gourmet, you don't know what you're missing!

I give this book my own enthusiastic recommendation. It's become the top raw foods recipe book in my own kitchen, and in fact, I plan on sampling a soup recipe from it later today.

Click here to get The Raw Gourmet for yourself or as a gift for a friend or family member. It's a gift you'll be remembered for!

To your health,
- Mike Adams

P.S. I know you'll be absolutely delighted with this book, but if for any reason you aren't, it's fully covered by our one-year satisfaction guarantee. Order it today and enjoy the health enhancing recipes yourself, risk-free!

How Big Pharma secretly bribes doctors

NewsTarget Insider Alert (www.NewsTarget.com)

Dear readers,

Would you be surprised to learn that the American Medical Association earns tens of millions of dollars selling database information that allows drug companies to target doctors for psychological influence campaigns? It's true, and today's stories reveal the dirty little secret in conventional medicine today: The routine bribery of physicians by drug reps (and the complicity of the AMA in enabling the bribery).

As one story reveals here, it remains perfectly legal to bribe physicians in 48 states wihout having to disclose the payments, gifts or free vacations given to the doctors!

Modern medicine is a dirty, corrupt business, and most M.D.s have, in effect, sold out to Big Pharma influence (often without even realizing it). Much of medicine today is, in my opinion, little more than a system of organized crime pretending to be a system of health care. Click any headline below for the full story:

Health: Drug reps use psychological tactics to successfully influence doctors' prescribing habits
Pharmaceutical companies spend more than $15 billion each year promoting prescription drugs in the United States. One-third of that amount is spent on "detailing" -- an industry term for drug company representatives' one-on-one promotion to doctors. A...

Health: Secret drug company payments to doctors remain legal in 48 states
Only five states and the District of Columbia require that pharmaceutical companies report gifts they make to doctors, and even in these jurisdictions the laws are so poorly enforced that the details of these transactions remain a de facto...

Energy: BanTheBulb.org promotes energy efficient lighting, but neglects LED lights
Do you realize how much energy it takes to light your home? In the U.S., the average household spends 20 percent of its electricity bill on lighting. BanTheBulb.org is a website dedicated to teaching consumers how to save money and protect the environment...

Mike Adams teleseminar survey

NewsTarget Insider Alert (www.NewsTarget.com)

Dear readers,

We are considering offering a live teleseminar on various natural health topics (disease prevention, diabetes cures, nutrition secrets, etc.) in a teleconference format where you call in to listen. You would also be able to ask questions in real time via email.

If this sounds interesting to you, would you please take a minute to answer our teleseminar survey about what topics, times and formats you would prefer most?

Just click here for the quick survey:

http://fs8.formsite.com/Arial/form739478663/index.html

Our intention is to use this format to share desperately needed natural health information in a more timely, person-to-person format. It's also a way for us to share cutting-edge or "underground" health secrets that are too controversial to publish on the website.

Thanks for your participation in our survey!

To your health,

- Mike Adams

The world according to the FDA + new cartoon

NewsTarget Insider Alert (www.NewsTarget.com)

Dear readers,

To many consumers, the actions of the FDA seem insane. This is no coincidence: The FDA is making decisions based on beliefs borrowed from some upside-down universe where synthetic chemicals are safe, but herbs and supplements are dangerous.

Today, we bring you a new CounterThink carton about the FDA Ministry of Truth as well as a feature article listing the 26 false beliefs that drive the FDA and conventional medicine today.

(The text of the cartoon is the same as the article.) Click any headline below to read:

Health: FDA Ministry of Truth (comic)
As clear-thinking people, natural health consumers sometimes look at the actions of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and wonder what planet its decision makers seem to be from. It's like the FDA is living in a completely different world than the...

Blueberries slash risk of colon cancer by 57 percent

NewsTarget Insider Alert (www.NewsTarget.com)

Dear readers,

Did you know that eating blueberries reduces your risk of colon cancer more than any pharmaceutical known to modern medicine? At the same time, blueberries also contain natural medicine that lowers cholesterol better than statin drugs. Blueberries offer truly amazing medicine (the natural medicine is found mostly in the skin of the blueberry, where the color pigmentation is located).

Read today's feature story to learn more about how blueberries reduce the risk of colon cancer. (Click the headline below.)

Note to consumers: When buying blueberries, fresh is always best. Buy organic wherever possible, but if you must buy conventional blueberries, be sure to wash them with a natural, plant-based veggie wash liquid to remove the pesticide residue. Also, be careful about buying dried blueberries. Most are made with added sugar or chemical preservatives! Be cautious and read ingredients labels to know what you're buying. Freeze-dried blueberries are the best non-fresh form to buy (or frozen, if they're organic).

Don't be fooled by the word "blueberry" in the name of the product, either. Trader Joe's currently sells a blueberry granola where the "blueberries" are made from propylene glycol! (Antifreeze for RVs...) Just because you think you see blueberries in a product, don't believe it. Blueberries are easily faked with artificial coloring chemicals and bits of dried sugar. Make sure the ingredients actually list "blueberries" as a prominent ingredient.

Health: Eating blueberries slashes colon cancer risk by 57 percent, animal study finds
A compound found in blueberries shows promise of preventing colon cancer, according to a new study. Scientists at Rutgers University and the U.S. Department of Agriculture conducted a joint study on animals, and found that the compound -- called pterostilbene...

Health: "Premium" pet food made in the same factories as cheap brands

Why did the AMA push cigarettes in its medical journal?

NewsTarget Insider Alert (www.NewsTarget.com)

Dear readers,

Can the American Medical Association be trusted? For decades, the AMA hawked cigarettes in its medical journal (JAMA) in partnership with Big Tobacco. Today's feature article exposes the true history of the AMA's complicity in pushing cancer-causing products onto the public.

It brings to mind an important question: Will the American Medical Association accept money from powerful corporations to run full-page advertisements promoting products that cause fatal diseases like cancer? It's not even a question, actually: the AMA already did that for decades with Big Tobacco. I argue that the AMA is doing much the same thing today with Big Pharma by pushing dangerous drugs in the same medical journal that once pushed dangerous tobacco products. (Same scam, different chemicals.)

Also, we have a short report on a vitamin B12 nutritional deficiency caused by a popular diabetes drug. Click any headline below to read more...

Health: Doctors, American Medical Association hawked cigarettes as healthy for consumers
Despite its stated mission, "To promote the art and science of medicine and the betterment of public health," the American Medical Association (AMA) has taken many missteps in protecting the health of the American people. One of the most striking examples...

Health: Long-Term and High-Dose Metformin Use Can Compromise B12 Levels
Metformin, a glucose-lowering drug, is one of the most widely prescribed drugs for type-2 (adult-onset) diabetes. But the longer a person takes the drug, especially at high dosages, the more likely he will develop a deficiency of vitamin B12. Researchers...

NewsTarget report: ADHD fraud exposed - Dr. Fred Baughman

NewsTarget Insider Alert ( www.NewsTarget.com)
Online reports / book announcements
(Unsubscribe instructions at bottom)

Dear readers,

In the last 30 years, the field of psychiatry has transformed childhood into a disease through the label of ADHD. That's exactly what Dr. Fred Baughman, a pediatric neurologist and fellow of the American Association of Neurologists explores in this downloadable interview from Truth Publishing.

Dr. Baughman is one of the few neurological experts that is willing come forward with the truth about ADHD and the mass drugging of America's children. Have you ever wondered why other countries don't have this explosion of mental illness in their kids? Have you ever wondered why people in your parent's generation didn't have these problems? The answers are all right here in this interview.

Plus, Dr. Baughman shares his latest book on the subject, and a DVD warning to parents about the latest epidemic of childhood diagnosis, who is profiting from it, and how the label could hurt their child for life -- not to mention the risk of heart attack, stroke, drug abuse and all the other side effects that children on ADHD drugs experience.

Read all this and more in "Live with Dr. Fred Baughman," available for downloading now at:

http://downloads.truthpublishing.com/LivewithFredBaughman.pdf

Dr. Baughman shares startling facts such as:

  • What group wants four out of every ten children diagnosed as ADHD
  • How brain "disorders" lack an objective standard
  • Why an ADHD-labeled child will have trouble getting healthcare coverage, getting a job, or getting into the military
  • How diseases are created by a "show of hands"
  • How parents, teachers and school districts are getting paid for ADHD diagnoses
  • How many psychiatric experts are owned by the pharmaceutical industry
  • The law the Bush Administration put into action that will REQUIRE your child to be screened for ADHD
  • Adult ADHD "recruiting" centers where 80 percent are diagnosed as ADHD
  • How the FDA lobbied another country to keep dangerous ADHD drugs on the market after fatalities occured
  • Why your grandparents were never diagnosed with ADHD
  • What percentage of kids walk out of their first psychiatric visit with an ADHD diagnosis
  • How taxpayers foot the bill for every ADHD diagnosis

You'll want to pass this information on to everyone you know with children or grandchildren, so they don't become just another vehicle of profit for the drug industry.  The risks are just too great, and too many parents and children have suffered already.

Download "Live with Dr. Fred Baughman" right now and read it for yourself:
