Can the American Medical Association be trusted? For decades, the AMA hawked cigarettes in its medical journal (JAMA) in partnership with Big Tobacco. Today's feature article exposes the true history of the AMA's complicity in pushing cancer-causing products onto the public.
It brings to mind an important question: Will the American Medical Association accept money from powerful corporations to run full-page advertisements promoting products that cause fatal diseases like cancer? It's not even a question, actually: the AMA already did that for decades with Big Tobacco. I argue that the AMA is doing much the same thing today with Big Pharma by pushing dangerous drugs in the same medical journal that once pushed dangerous tobacco products. (Same scam, different chemicals.)
