This video technology is important for free speech online. The currently state of online video is a near monopoly, with Google now owning YouTube and hosting the vast majority of videos seen by end users. We see this as troubling, given Google's track record on censorship in China (the company conspires with the Chinese government to strip out search results on topics like the Dalai Lama) and its atrocious privacy practices. We believe in the decentralization of online videos, allowing individuals or small groups of people to launch grassroots video sites that cannot be censored by any corporation or government.
Zeop is precisely such a technology. It allows individuals, non-profits, small businesses, universities or just about anyone to create an online video community where they control the content and reap the rewards of the hyperlinks back to their website.
